Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow who will support the Department of Molecular Medicine/Oncology, in the laboratory of Dr. Evanthia Galanis. This one year renewable position is focusing on the study of oncolytic viruses and combinations in the treatment of malignancies, with a special emphasis on factors determining permissiveness to viral replication in vivo and viral interaction with the immune system. The work has strong translational implications with the outcome affecting the design of future clinical trials in breast cancer and brain tumors. Qualified individuals should have demonstrated the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or M.D. with significant laboratory experience and several first author publications, and have demonstrated excellence in written communication. Previous experience in cell culture, virology, tumor immunology and animal models of tumorigenesis is preferred.
