Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in a laboratory studying liver cell death and inflammation in the Department of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. Our laboratory examines the mechanisms of hepatic steatosis, injury and inflammation with an emphasis on the functions of MAPK signaling pathways and the lysosomal degradative pathway of autophagy in these pathophysiological processes. An emphasis is on the identification of novel genes/proteins that are downstream effectors of these pathways in order to develop new approaches to prevent hepatic injury and resultant liver failure in humans. Investigations are conducted in cultured hepatocytes and macrophages and in transgenic mouse models relevant to human liver diseases employing a wide variety of techniques of cellular and molecular biology. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., experience in cell culture and mouse models, and skill in techniques of molecular biology and protein chemistry. |
