Fixed Term Full time for approximately 30 months.

The Centre for Biological Engineering is looking to employ a Full Time Research Assistant on a Fixed Term contract for 30 months.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist in the HemAcure project.

HemAcure aims to develop an autologous ex vivo gene therapy product for the treatment of haemophilia A. The innovative concept consists of the FVIII gene correction and expansion of autologous endothelial cells, which are then transplanted into a proprietary prevascularized medical device designed for therapeutic cells which has been pre- implanted subcutaneously in humans (a cell pouch). The transplanted cells should release FVIII into the bloodstream of the patient over an extended period of time and hopefully significantly improve the quality of life.

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, self-starter who demonstrates personal accountability for outcomes and thrives on increasing levels of responsibility. We are looking for a postdoc with experience in ageing markers, epigenetics, real time PCR and molecular biology (cloning, primer design, virus. Experience in cell culture is a bonus.
