Centre for Biotechnology (CBT), University of Turku is a top-quality research center harbouring several research groups with distinguished publication profile (http://www.btk.fi/). The center harbours excellent core facilities in the areas of NGS, high-end bioimaging, proteomics and mouse models. Furthermore, Biocity Turku umbrella organization offers very high quality research training including e.g. frequent seminars by world recognized speakers.
Laboratory of Professor Jukka Westermarck at CBT is focused on evaluating therapeutic potential of PP2A tumor suppressor reactivation by targeting of its inhibitor proteins CIP2A and PME-1. Our recent work in this area has revealed very exciting therapeutic opportunities in particular to overcome therapy resistance in many common cancer types. We are now searching for highly motivated researchers with prominent track record to further explore therapeutic potential of these novel findings.
Open posts:
A post-doctoral fellow and a PhD student: Role of PP2A in breast cancer development and therapy resistance
