Two Researcher positions in the field of Actinomycete Metabolic Engineering : Copenhagen, Denmark
For a research project funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we are seeking two highly motivated scientists to join our highly international research center – The Novo Nordisk Foundation for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
Responsibilities and tasks
The successful candidates will be working on projects concerning the development of CRISPR-based tools for actinomycetes (position 1) and the rational engineering of type I modular polyketide synthase pathways (position 2).
Become part of the New Bioactive Compounds section headed by Prof. Sang Yup Lee and Co-PI Dr. Tilmann Weber.
Required qualifications for both positions:
• PhD in relevant field
• Postdoctoral experience in genetic/metabolic engineering of microorganisms or genetic/biochemical characterization of secondary metabolite biosynthetic pathways
• Experience in genetic engineering of actinomycetes
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
• Strong English written and oral language skills
Additional required qualification for position 1:
• Proven track record and extensive knowledge about CRISPR systems and application
Additional required qualification for position 2:
• Proven track record and extensive knowledge about type I cis-AT/trans-AT type PKS biochemistry

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 3 years, starting from 1.1.2016.
Place of work is DTU Biosustain in Hørsholm (until 7/2016) respective DTU main campus Lyngby (from 8/2016).
