NIH-funded post-doctoral position available to study mechanisms of response to immune checkpoint inhibitors in kidney cancer.

Clinical trials evaluating PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies have demonstrated promising clinical efficacy with durable benefit in a subset of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) patients who have failed prior therapy. To guide further clinical development of these agents, our project aims to 1) develop and validate a predictive model that examines both tumor and immune infiltrate; 2) understand the mechanism of action of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade to facilitate the development of highly active combination regimens for those patients unlikely to benefit from single agent PD-1 blockade.

Requirements: We are seeking a highly motivated applicant with an M.D. and/or Ph.D. in biology/biochemistry/molecular biology and strong laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology. Candidates with a strong background in immunology and experience working with human tissue are highly preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a good publication record are highly desirable. Computer literacy is essential.
