The Pless laboratory in the Center for Biopharmaceuticals at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology is offering two temporary postdoctoral positions within molecular function and pharmacology of ion channels in the period from 17 May 2016 to 16 May 2018
About us
The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology delivers research and teaching within a wide range of drug-related disciplines, spanning the molecular, cellular, and pharmacological levels. The department has approximately 300 employees. The recruiting group currently has 8 members and offers a newly-renovated laboratory space with cutting-edge equipment.
Project description
The current position aims at utilizing electrophysiological approaches in combination with cutting edge optical and chemical biology techniques, such as the incorporation of unnatural amino acids. The work will be highly interdisciplinary, with emphasis on studying the molecular function and pharmacology of (patho)physiologically relevant ion channels. The postdoc will be hosted by the Pless laboratory within the Center for Biopharmaceuticals, providing a highly competitive and international environment. The position also involves teaching of undergraduate or graduate students.
Your qualifications
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
•A PhD degree (before start of the postdoctoral position)
•Practical experience in electrophysiology or chemical biology
•Expertise in ion channels and molecular biology
•Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
Terms of employment
The appointment is made in accordance with the Circular on the collective agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The appointment is furthermore covered by the rules concerning postdocs as described in the Danish Agency for Higher Education’s “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” of 28 June 2013.
Your working hours will be 37 hours per week on average.
