KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Contributing to funding research proposals, including the preparation of comparative research,

- Writing publications relevant to CAPS's research focuses and publishing papers in top ranking journals;

- Assisting CAPS staff and affiliated researchers with the execution of projects including conferences, training, summer schools and other similar efforts;

- Helping liaise with researchers elsewhere on comparative experiences;

- Teaching undergraduate as well as postgraduate students in the field of specialization - up to 300 hours per academic year;

- Providing topical information on the web site and elsewhere to promote the achievements of the CAPS;

- Assisting the project director in administrative duties.

ESSENTIALS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



Knowledge:

- Ph.D degree and background in political science (anthropology).

- Knowledge of the following is an advantage: anthropology of the state, arctic studies, ethnicity, identity politics.



Skills:

- Outstanding research and writing skills in the field of specialization, as demonstrated by publications.

- A familiarity with Northern or Eastern regions of Russia (fieldwork experience) is a considerable advantage.

- A knowledge of software relevant to the discipline is essential for all applicants.



Experience:

- Proven ability to undertake a self-directed research project.

- Strong potential for international publication records (publications in Scopus/Web of Science).
