美国美国乔治亚医学院(奥古斯塔)分子肿瘤生物学博士后职位
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Jan van Riggelen located in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department/Cancer Research Center at Georgia Regents University (GRU) in Augusta, GA USA. http://www.gru.edu/mcg/bmb/vanriggelenlab.php
The project focuses on the role of DNA methyltransferases in c-Myc oncogene dependence and tumor maintenance in leukemia/lymphoma. The laboratory interested in the epigenetic mechanisms underlying self-renewal and cellular differentiation in cancer. We use cell lines and mouse models to study how the c-Myc oncogene regulates chromatin structure during tumor initiation and maintenance.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong background in molecular cancer biology to join a young and dynamic research group. Interested individuals should have obtained their PhD or equivalent recently and have a strong publication track record in molecular or cellular biology.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry or related field.
- The project requires a profound hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques, tumor cell lines, cDNA expression, shRNA knockdown strategies, FACS, DNA methylation and Chromatin immunoprecipiation analysis using NG sequencing technologies. Experience working with transgenic mouse models is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with other lab members as a team.
- Capacity to write manuscripts.
- A proven record of publications in the field of cancer research.
- No more than 3 years of postdoctoral experiences.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design experiments to perform cutting edge research to uncover novel biological mechanisms underlying oncogene dependence and tumor maintenance
- Organize and conduct studies independently (including preparation, data collection, interpretation, and presentation)
- Author manuscripts for quality publications in top-tier journals.
- Attend and present at international meetings and collaborate across groups in the research unit.
How to apply
Please send a cover letter, CV and names of three individuals who are willing to provide letters of reference. The cover letter should describe your research background, research interests, long-term career goals, and their fit with the focus of the van Riggelen laboratory. Your CV should include your education, awards, publications and research experience.
