美国艾伯特爱因斯坦医学院神经科学研究博士后职位
Two postdoctoral fellow positions are immediately available in Dr. Cai’s laboratory in Department of Molecular Pharmacology, Diabetes Research Center, and Institute of Aging, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
Cai’s laboratory has research focuses on studying: (1) neural mechanisms of aging, lifespan and longevity control at cellular and animal (mouse, drosophila and C. elegans) levels; (2) neural mechanisms of aging- and obesity-related diabetes, hypertension and neurodegenerative diseases; and (3) molecular and cellular interventions of these diseases using neuropeptides or neural stem cells. Some background of our research can found in our publications such as Cell, 135 (1): 61-73, 2008; Nature Medicine, 17 (7): 883-7, 2011; Neuron, 69 (3): 523-35, 2011; Nature Cell Biology 14 (10): 999-1012, 2012; Nature, 497(7448): 211-6, 2013; Nature Medicine, 20(9):1001-8, 2014, Nature Immunology, 16(5):525-33, 2015, and Nature Communications, 6:6704, 2015.
Candidates must have recently completed his/her PhD training or equivalent, and have independent research abilities with strong research interest, ambitious scientific goals, self motivation, and the skills to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team. He/she is expected to lead innovative, cutting-edge research projects that are funded by the NIH.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in a quiet, residential section in northeast Bronx borough of New York City, a tight-knit and culturally diverse community in close proximity to many popular Bronx attractions, and just minutes from both Manhattan and Westchester County. Einstein is well recognized as one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. Highlight research areas at Einstein include diabetes, developmental brain research, neuroscience, aging, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, cancer, AIDS, and others. As a longstanding national leader in biomedical research, Einstein has more than 300 research laboratories, 3,000 faculty and staff, 750 medical students and 350 PhD students, and offers many exciting and unusual career opportunities for talented individuals who are dedicated to biomedical research.
Successful applicants will be generously offered with NIH guideline-based salary and benefits, in addition to being a member of a high-quality research team and a collaborative research environment of NIH-sponsored diabetes center and aging institute. The Belfer Institute for Advanced Biomedical Studies at Einstein also provides best scientific and social environment as well as convenient housing options specially for postdoctoral researchers.
