Postdoctoral Research Scientist : Glasgow, United Kingdom

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Initial 3 year fxed term contract.

Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Glasgow is one of Europe’s leading cancer research centres. It supports cutting edge research into the molecular mechanisms of cancer development. The Institute provides an outstanding research environment, underpinned by state-of-the-art core services and advanced technologies with special emphasis on imaging, metabolomics and in vivo models of cancer.

We currently have a vacancies for an enthusiastic, ambitious and creative Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the following area:

The role of tumour microenvironment in cancer development
Dr Sara Zanivan

We are a vibrant team which aims at unravelling the role of the tumour microenvironment in cancer development. Our research is focused on the role of endothelial cells and cancer-associated fbroblasts, and the interaction between these cells and tumour cells. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and ambitious postdoctoral researcher and we offer a unique opportunity to combine cell/molecular biology approaches and in vivo tumour models with quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics to develop a new level of understanding on the tumour microenvironment.

You will have a PhD in a feld relevant to cancer biology, an excellent publication record and a demonstrable capability for independent thinking. While experience with mass spectrometry is not required, candidates should have a strong interest in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Experience with in vivo models is desirable.
