A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mauro Costa-Mattioli in the Memory & Brain Research Center (MBRC) in Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. The lab studies neurobiological basis of long-term memory formation and understanding the specific circuits and/or molecular pathways that are primarily targeted in cognitive disorders and how they can be restored. Applicant must have an advanced graduate degree, such as a PhD in a relevant area of study. Duties will include helping to lead a research team use a multidisciplinary, convergent and cross-species approach that combines mouse and fly genetics, molecular biology, electrophysiology, imaging, stem cell biology, optogenetics and behavioral techniques. The selected applicant will be part of a vibrant and rich academic environment.
