摘要:

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantum Effects in Electronic Nanodevices – Nanotechnology : Oxford, United Kingdom

Salary: Grade 7: Salary in the range £30,434 - £34,233 p.a. (pay award pending)

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Harry Anderson FRS on a project funded by the EPSRC for a fixed-term period of 36 months.

The core aim of the QuEEN Programme Grant is to investigate quantum effects in molecules in devices, with a view to discovering fundamental science and harnessing the properties for practical technologies.

This post will be will focus on nanofabrication and testing of molecular devices connected to graphene electrodes. This research is highly interdisciplinary and the researcher will interact closely with QuEEN researchers at the University of Oxford (Department of Materials) and Lancaster University (Physics Department).

Duties will include a combination of the following tasks: testing covalent and non-covalent anchor groups for attaching molecules between graphene electrodes; testing molecular devices with a range of HOMO-LUMO gaps and optimising the performance of molecular transistors.

You should either already have a PhD in physical sciences or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up the post.

The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA in the Department of Chemistry, and also in the Quantum Nanotechnologies Laboratory, Department of Materials.

The post is available from January 2016.

Only applications received by 12.00 midday on 6 January 2016 can be considered.
