Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Biomedical Research : Paris, France
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Anne Joutel (MD, PhD) at Inserm, Paris, France in the Department of Genetics and Pathogenesis of Cerebrovascular Diseases.
The Joutel Lab is focused on understanding the cellular and molecular basis of small vessel diseases of the brain, a group of diseases that are among the main causes of stroke and dementia. The laboratory is particularly interested in hereditary forms of small vessel diseases of the brain. Our overall goal is to develop therapeutic approaches to treat these diseases. Our research uses conditional transgenic and knock-out mouse models and multidisciplinary approaches such as molecular, biochemical and immunohistochemical techniques as well as mass spectrometry/proteomics and vascular physiology.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and experienced scientist to join our lab to work on key mediators of small vessel diseases of the brain.
The candidate should hold a PhD degree in areas of biological sciences relevant to this research. MD candidates with strong commitment to basic science are also encouraged to apply. Prior experience with protein biochemistry and vascular biology is preferred. Candidates must have at least one first author publication in a good quality journal.
The position is available from January 2016 for an initial one year-appointment which may be renewable for up to four years total based on performance.
