The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is one of the birthplaces of molecular biology and is an internationally renowned centre for fundamental biomedical research.

We are recruiting an experienced Postdoctoral Scientist to work on the structural biology of centrioles, within the group of Dr Mark van Breugel.

Candidates should have a PhD in a biological subject or due to complete doctoral studies within 6 months of applying (in a biological subject), with a strong background in structural and molecular biology. A desire to work on challenging but rewarding projects will be beneficial.

The work will involve protein biochemistry, biophysics, X-ray crystallography and/or cryo-EM, as well as substantial amounts of molecular biology. Experience in these fields is required. We are aiming to understand the architecture of centrioles and their assembly mechanisms at the molecular level.

Successful applicants will be awarded a 3-year Career Development Fellowship/MRC Postdoctoral Training Scheme. The fellowship is a training and development position for a post-doctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, or is moving into a new research discipline.
