Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Cardiac Developmental Biology : Oxford, United Kingdom
Salary: Grade 7: Salary in the range £30,434 - £33,242 p.a. (pay award pending)
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research scientist to join Dr Duncan Sparrow’s laboratory to work on a project focused on investigating the genetic and environmental influences on mammalian heart development.
You must hold, or be near completion of, a PhD in a relevant area of research. You must have experience working with animal models, a previous publication record and background expertise in mammalian developmental biology and/or cardiovascular sciences. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to communicate findings in a scholarly manner. A Home Office licence will be required.
Your duties will include utilising laboratory techniques, protocols, methodologies and equipment as required to complete studies. Your role will include undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and writing up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Also you will collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports, journal articles and the presentation of papers and posters at conferences.
This post will be funded for up to 2 years by the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence. The postholder will be based predominantly at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, Sherrington Building, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PT.
