Postdoctoral Fellow – Tumor Microenvironment (MICRO 15-0160)

The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow – Tumor Microenvironment in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cell Biology at West Virginia University. This position provides support to a sponsored project for the Gibson Lab http://www.wvucancer.org/gibson-lab. The overall goal of this project is to determine the mechanisms by which the bone marrow microenvironment is damaged by dose escalated chemotherapy and the protective function of the marrow in supporting tumor cell survival.

A PhD in cancer cell biology, cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, or related medical science degree; and, experience in tissue culture including complex co-culture models, in vivo mouse modeling of neoplastic disease and molecular biology based techniques are required. Strong writing skills relevant to both manuscripts and grants preferred as well as mentoring of undergraduate students. Experience with public presentations of scientific work is preferred.
