The USC Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI) is searching for post-doctoral fellows. We are looking for candidates who have a careful balance of practical computer science experience with large computational frameworks, research experience with neuroimaging analyses, genetics and different types of neuroscience data, and insight on how to combine these data together with visualization displays and interactive visual elements. Applicants must be knowledgeable about current computer science technologies in neuroscience (including how data are stored, processed, analyzed and distributed) and know when these technologies are applicable and useful. Applicants must have a publication record and example software solutions.

The USC Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute aims to enhance discovery through the application of imaging and other data and information technologies in the study of the brain. The Institute is dedicated to excellence in data acquisition, analysis, stewardship and computational innovation for the purpose of biomedical research.

Competitive applicants should document the following skills and knowledge:

• PhD in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent
• Demonstrated knowledge of Java, C++, XML, MySQL, RESTful services
• Experience creating user-interfaces 
• Experience working with neuroimaging, genetics, proteomics, grid computing, Globus, data management, data visualization, workflow design and execution, and informatics methods
• Ability to write research manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Ability to present research to peers at meetings and conferences
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles
