Post-doctoral positions are available now at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center for highly motivated, well trained individuals interested in pursuing one of several areas of cancer research. The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (Sylvester) at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine is the only university-based center in South Florida and we aim to reduce the human burden from cancer through research, education, prevention, and the delivery of the highest quality patient care. Sylvester is a highly collaborative environment with four major research programs: Tumor Biology; Viral Oncology; Cancer Control; and Cancer Epigenetics.

The Cancer Epigenetics program focuses on understanding the implication of epigenetic modifiers in cancer and other disorders, brings together nearly a dozen research laboratories led by world renowned scientists. We are currently seeking candidates to join this program in the laboratories of Drs. William Harbour, Stephen Nimer, Lluis Morey, Ramin Shiekhattar, Claes Wahlestedt, Mingjiang Xu, Feng-Chun Yang and participate in performing cutting-edge research projects whose focus range from hematological malignancies to uveal melanoma, kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer and brain tumors.

The successful applicant should have a strong background in cancer biology, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry or related fields, and preferably have experience working with mammalian cells and mouse models of cancer. Applicants with experience in stem cell biology or who are familiar with bioinformatic tools (particularly next generation sequencing data analysis) are encouraged to apply.

The ideal applicant is a goal oriented, pro-active and hard-working individual with excellent organizational skills who is passionate about making a difference in cancer research. Excellent computer and communication skills and proficiency in English are mandatory.
