摘要:

Postdoctoral Position in Melanoma Genomics: University of California, San Francisco

A post-‐doctoral position is available, fully funded for 4 years, working in the group of Boris Bastian (UCSF Helen Diller Cancer Center, San Francisco, CA) on molecular analyses of melanocytic neoplasia (see representative studies in Yeh I et al. Nat Commun. 2015, Wiesner T et al, Nat Commun. 2014, Shain AH et al. Nat Genet in press, Shain AH et al. N Engl J Med in press).

The investigator will analyze genomic DNA and RNA from clinical samples to identify characteristic genetic alterations and perform functional analyses in suitable model systems to delineate the functional contribution of candidate genes to the clinical phenotype.

Profile:

We are looking for ambitious, organized, and highly-‐motivated candidates interested in translational biomedical research. The ideal candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in a related field, have experience in molecular genetics, mammalian cell culture and general molecular biology techniques, and is expected have expertise in the following areas:

-‐ Next-‐generation sequencing of DNA and RNA

-‐ Bioinformatic analysis of high-‐throughput data

-‐ Molecular biology of cancer

The Bastian lab is located in the UCSF Helen Diller Cancer Center an NCI-‐Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located at UCSF’s Mission Bay Campus, a dynamic and interactive community which brings together hundreds of basic researchers and clinicians dedicated to the translation of promising ideas into the creation of new and better treatments for cancer patients. The HDFCCC is an interdisciplinary initiative that combines basic cancer science, clinical research, epidemiology/cancer control, and patient care programs throughout the UCSF campus.
