Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Identification of Antigens Recognised by Auto-immune T cells : Oxford, United Kingdom
We are seeking a postdoctoral scientist, who will join the Viral Immunology group, headed by Professor Sir Andrew McMichael FRS, in the NDM Research Building. This post, led by Dr Geraldine Gillespie PhD, is to work on T cells with autoimmune potential. This position is fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the cloning and production of soluble T cell receptors isolated from lymphocyte in the joints of patients with two forms of inflammatory arthritis. They will have excellent knowledge of bacterial, insect and/or eukaryotic expression systems, and of the purification of protein from large-scale cultures. They must also have experience of independently planning and managing a research project, and should have the confidence to communicate effectively with collaborators based in the USA.
They will hold a PhD (or equivalent) with proven academic or industrial track record in protein biochemistry. A good publication record and familiarity with the existing literature/research in the field is also
