Postdoctoral Position in Migraine and Pain Research : St. Louis, MO, United States

A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Cao lab is looking for highly motivated candidates that are keen on understanding the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying episodic and chronic migraine as well as exploring molecular and cellular targets for new therapeutics in mouse models. The research program employs a multidisciplinary approach including state of the art technologies in electrophysiology, time-lapse imaging, anatomical tracing, single neuron profiling as well as mouse genetics and behavioral assays. 

The successful candidates should have the following qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in neuroscience (or a related scientific discipline) with a strong record of publications.
• Extensive experience in primary neuronal culture and/or slice. 
• Solid command of literature and excellent critical thinking skill.
• Ability to rationally design, execute, and interpret experiments.
• Ability to trouble-shoot independently and effectively.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with excellent communication skills.
• Strong record-keeping skill and high proficiency in verbal and written English.
