Post-Doctoral position in Rapid Molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases – Mycobacterium tuberculosis : Newark, NJ, United States
The Alland laboratory at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School seeks a highly-qualified post-doctoral student to conduct original cutting-edge research in rapid molecular diagnostics of infectious disease with a principal focus on diagnostics for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Our laboratory is one of the world’s premier groups conducting tuberculosis diagnostic development. We have been responsible for developing the Xpert MTB/RIFassay, the first near-patient, on-demand automated test for tuberculosis; and continue to develop newer versions of this assay, as well as companion tests.
The successful candidate would help to lead these and other projects. Additional research and development in related fields and technologies also possible and encouraged. Prior experience in infectious disease diagnostics, creativity, enthusiasm, outstanding references, and a willingness to be trained to work with live M. tuberculosis required.
