Postdoctoral Position - Postdoctoral Fellow - Hypertension : Memphis, TN, United States

Description: The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.KAFAIT U MALIK. Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to investigate the central neurohumoral and molecular mechanisms involved in hypertension. The work will involve central administration of various agents and viruses containing shRNA or DNA of various genes, measuring blood pressure by radio-telemetry method, isolation of organs including brain, cutting sections and histological examination of tissues, SDS-PAGE, DNA and mRNA measurements by RT-PCR. Qualifications: Recent graduate with M.D. or Ph.D. in Physiology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Neurobiology or a related field. Experience, as indicated by some publications, with the utilization of stereotaxic, molecular biology, immunohistochemical HPLC LC/MS techniques. Experience with small animal surgery and fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral research trainees set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
