摘要:

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Biology

The Larman Laboratory is situated within the Immunology Division of the Pathology Department at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, in Baltimore, Maryland. Here we develop and deploy cutting edge, DNA sequencing-based molecular assays to better understand human immune responses. The lab is currently seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship in computational biology.

Phage ImmunoPrecipitation sequencing (PhIP-seq) is a powerful new proteo-genomic technique that we have pioneered for profiling antibodies against both self and microbial peptidome libraries. Process automation and low per-sample costs enable the screening of large sample collections, generating unprecedented databases of antibody specificities. There is an unmet need for novel computational approaches to the analysis of PhIP-seq datasets. This position will provide an innovative data scientist with a unique opportunity to improve our understanding of human immunity, with broad applicability to cancer, infectious disease and autoimmune disease.

Applicants should be highly motivated, independent, and very hard working. Experience developing novel computational approaches to the analysis of large datasets is required. Previous experience in virology or immunology is strongly preferred. Applicants must have a strong record of achievement.
