Job Description

Two positions for drug design and discovery are available at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston

1. Postdoctoral Fellowship, Computer-Assisted Drug Design

We are looking for candidates for a postdoctoral fellowship position who would participate in the development and application of new computational approaches to the design and discovery of novel anti-cancer agents. As in a multidisciplinary program the successful individual will be responsible for structure-based and ligand-based drug design in close collaboration with experimental chemists and biologists.

Basic requirements:
• Open-minded, self-motivated. A quick learner with strong problem solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of molecular modeling and drug design
• Demonstrated experience with scripting (e.g., Perl, Python)/programming (C/C++, Java, etc.)
• Sound knowledge in chemistry and biology.

2. Software Developer (Full or Part Time)
• Intensive experience of computer system administration and software integration, particularly on Linux clusters
• Expertise in database management (database building, web-based query, data retrieval, etc.) and development of web-based applications (HTML, JS, PHP).
• Experience with scientific scripting/programming (C/C++, Java, MySQL, etc.)
