A position for a Postdoctoral Training Fellow is available in 2015 in the Protein Networks Laboratory (led by Dr. Paul Huang) in The Institute of Cancer Research based in Chelsea. This project is funded by Cancer Research UK through a Career Establishment Award to Dr Huang. The project will be to identify functional pathway dependencies in drug resistance in lung cancer. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic scientist to use a combination of synthetic lethal screens and molecular profiling approaches (transcriptomics and proteomics) to identify kinase pathway dependencies in lung cancer cell lines.

Applicants will hold a PhD in Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a similar discipline. Applicants must be experienced in cell and molecular biology techniques. Hands-on experience in functional screens using RNAi, high-throughput and/or high content assays is essential. Knowledge in kinase biology, lung cancer and integrative analysis of molecular profiling datasets would be advantageous. Prior experience in proteomics would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Candidates should be capable of working independently, be ambitious and driven to achieve goals and are expected to have at least one first author peer reviewed publication.

The appointment will be made on a fixed term contract of 36 months. The full salary scale is in the range from £28,966 p.a. to £41,400 p.a. inclusive. Starting salary will be based on previous postdoctoral experience.
