Postdoctoral Research Associate - Brown University
A postdoctoral position is available in the Lapierre lab in the department of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Brown University (For more info: https://vivo.brown.edu/display/llapierr). Our research program is focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of aging and longevity by studying the transcriptional and metabolic regulation of proteostatic processes, including the autophagy-lysosomal pathway. Our ultimate goal is to find solutions to prevent age-related diseases, such as neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, ALS, etc.) and metabolic diseases (fatty liver, obesity, etc.).
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related fields.
Experience with C. elegans is an asset
Proficiency in spoken and written English is necessary
Great communication and teamwork skills are essential
Advanced analytical and conceptual skills are requisite
The Lapierre lab fosters collegial interactions and values intellectual independence and initiative. Notably, funding for this position is available for 3 years, contingent on satisfactory performance reviews. The candidate will be encouraged to apply for external funding (fellowships). Projects are funded in part by a Pathway to Independence R00 grant from the National Institute on Aging.
