Postdoc openings in printable electronics and thermoelectrics

The Advanced Energy Lab (AEL) within the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering in Boise State University is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a postdoctoral associate position in printable electronics and thermoelectrics. The successful candidate will be a key part of a team that is developing novel materials and devices for energy harvesting, sensing, and biomedical applications, with emphasis on advanced manufacturing of novel thermoelectric energy harvester and sensors. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to pursue other research projects of interest to build an independent research career. Additional responsibilities include general lab management and graduate student mentoring.

Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics or a related science or engineering discipline
• Expertise on semiconductor based nanoparticles synthesis and colloidal ink solution synthesis. Experience on wet chemistry based synthesis route is preferable.
• Experience on inkjet/screen printing, and other additive manufacturing process is a strong plus.
• Knowledge on thermoelectric materials synthesis and characterization is a strong plus.
Established in 2013 by Prof. Yanliang Zhang, AEL is one of the fastest growing labs in thermoelectric field in United States. We integrate an “Atomic to System Engineering” approach to close the gap between basic research and commercial applications. With nearly 20,000 students, Boise State is the largest university in Idaho. The university is located in Idaho’s capital city and largest metropolitan area, which serves as the government, economic, business, health care, and cultural center of the state.
