摘要:

Structural biology of peripheral membrane proteins involved in signal transduction

Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in Dr. Tatyana Igumenova’s laboratory at Texas A&M University, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics.

The first research project involves the structural and dynamical studies of proteins involved in signal transduction at the membrane surface (Protein Kinase C) and membrane fusion (Synaptotagmin 1) and their interactions with membranes. The second research project focuses on studying the effects of toxic metal ions on the structure, dynamics, and membrane interactions of these protein systems. Both projects rely mostly on advanced NMR techniques, but also make use of other biophysical methods, such as fluorescence spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, or a related field. Experience in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, computational methods, and protein expression/purification methods is desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience. The applicants should send their CV, the names of three referees, and representative publications to tigumenova@tamu.edu.

Texas A&M University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer that is committed to improving diversity.
