    We are looking for one postdoctoral fellow to study synaptic plasticity under physiological and pathophysiological conditions.

    The postdoctoral fellow will participate in one of our ongoing projects aiming to understand how in vivo experience induces plastic changes in the brain reward circuitry, and whether manipulating these changes re-shapes the behavioral output. Main techniques that are routinely used in these studies: i) small animal (rats or mice) surgeries, operant behavioral tests (e.g., self-administration of sucrose or drugs of abuse), stereotaxic delivery of vectors into specific brain regions, EEG recordings and sleep scoring, and in vivo optogenetic manipulations in behaving animals; and ii) Electrophysiology, including measuring synaptic and membrane activity in acute brain slices, and dissecting individual brain circuits using optogenetic approaches.

    The candidate is expected to be experienced in slice electrophysiology and be willing to acquire related behavioral analyses.
