    The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.HONGSIK CHO. Description: A highly motivated postdoctoral candidate will be mentored by Dr. Hongsik Cho in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering at UTHSC. A postdoctoral research fellow position is immediately available which focuses on the development of targeted nanosome treatment for osteoarthritis (OA). The work will include; preparing targeted nanosomes containing drugs or contrast agent, testing the target efficacy in vivo, establishing an OA animal model and imaging.     Qualifications: Candidates should hold a Ph.D or M.D in Biomedical research. The candidate must have practical knowledge of cartilage and bone biology, liposome synthesis, small animal imaging, histopathology and handling of OA animal models. Expertise in Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required. Qualified candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently. Candidate must also be proficient in oral and written English skills, including command of manuscript writing and poster presentations and the capacity to interact with other lab members are essential.

    Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral research trainees set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
