The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine Inc. (HJF) is seeking a Junior Postdoctoral Fellow to support the Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing Program (GSN) located at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to GSN.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a program of research through assistance in the executing and implementing of scientific research.
- Conduct library research with a librarian for the purpose of writing systematic review and/or accessing literature to serve as a foundation for a grant.
- Prepare and submit documents for scientific review by the Office of Research and the Institutional Review Board.
- Assist with developing recruitment strategies and with recruiting study subjects.
- Carry out research protocol for the purpose of collecting data.
- Assist with data management, analysis, and interpretation.
- Prepare and disseminate research results for presentations at scientific meetings and for journal publications.
- Assist with orienting collaborating personnel to approved research protocol and research goals as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of work space and research areas as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of stress, coping, military and caregiving scientific areas; ability to organize, analyze and interpret data; excellent communication skills; initiative in establishing collaborative research partnerships; ability to work with minimal supervision.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: PhD in a related scientific discipline
Minimum Experience: 1 to 2 years
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing and sitting; carrying light equipment and/or office supplies
Work Environment: Office environment; on rare occasion, may require working evenings and weekends.
