A PostDoctoral position in molecular ecology of aquatic invertebrates is available at the Heinrich-Heine-University of Duesseldorf, Germany starting April 1st.
Successful candidates will complement a research team investigating the molecular physiology and ecology (in particular using transcriptomics, gene expression analyses and population genetics) of zooplankton (Daphnia sp.). Applicants should have a strong background in molecular biology methods and preferably with the bioinformatic analysis of transcriptome (RNASeq) data.
Further, an active participation in the group's undergraduate teaching in basic zoology (average 4 hours per week) is expected. For this, knowledge of zoological systematics and morphology and German language skills are essential.
The position (salary level TV-L13, full time) is available from April 1st, 2015 for at least 12 months with an option for another year. Work places are the Universities of Duesseldorf and Cologne in western Germany (approx. 40 km apart).
