摘要:
Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Cancer Research / Experimental Oncology : Lund, Sweden

The Experimental Oncology group at the Division of Translational Cancer Research, Lund University (headed by Professor Kristian Pietras) subscribes to the view that a tumor should be considered as a communicating organ in its own right, comprising multiple cell types that collectively evolve into a clinically manifested and deadly disease. Human tumors are heterogenous and harbor malignant cells with different proliferative and metastastic potential. However, less is known about the heterogeneity within the tumor microenvironment, although it is well established that the tumor stroma similarly influences the growth and progression of the cancer. Our integrated approach combines high resolution studies of basic biology with the use of disease-specific genetically engineered mouse models of cancer with proven translational capacity and exclusive clinical materials.

Postdoctoral fellow (100%)
The position is open from March 1st, 2015 for an initial period of 2 years with the possibility of an extension following performance review. Salary according to Lund University guidelines.

As part of the ERC-funded project TUMORGAN, we are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to spearhead our efforts to identify the global hallmarks of a microenvironment that is permissive for metastatic dissemination. To qualify, the applicant must hold a Ph.D. or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate. It is required that the applicant has well-documented expertise and experience regarding tumor biology, including animal work in different types of tumor models and genetically engineered mice. Furthermore, the applicant should have experience in technologies for conditional targeted gene mutagenesis in mice, tissue handling, histological methods, and different types of microscopy and imaging, as well have a broad technical knowledge in molecular biology. The applicant should further have a documented knowledge in genomic and transcriptomic analysis.

In the appointment procedure, we will accord special weight to academic skills (publication record), excellence in relevant methodologies and research topics, originality of previous work, as well as social and interpersonal skills, power of initiative and personal suitability.

Please send your contact details and application including a CV with publication record, letter of interest, a 1-page description of main findings from previous research, and contact information for at least 2 reference persons by e-mail to Kristian.Pietras [at] med.lu.se….
