We seek a Research Associate to join Professor Caldas' pioneering research programme at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute (CI). The CI emphasises multi-disciplinary approaches to link laboratory findings to the clinic and has state-of-the-art research facilities for over 300 scientists supported by outstanding core resources.
The Caldas laboratory has carried out ground-breaking work on ctDNA (circulating tumour DNA) as a liquid biopsy in breast cancer (Dawson et al, NEMJ 2013; Murtaza et al, Nature 2013). A postdoctoral position is now available for 2 years to continue this work and develop ctDNA as a stratification, monitoring and clonal tracking tool for application in molecularly targeted therapy trials. Experience with next-generation sequencing data generation and analysis is an absolute requirement for candidates.
