摘要:
A POSTDOCTORAL POSITION is available immediately at Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a good knowledge of and great interest in immunology, cellular and molecular biology. The laboratory functions as an integrated translational research program with the goal of designing and developing cell-based delivery and immunotherapy strategies for the CNS infectious diseases, degenerative diseases and the brain cancer treatment and prevention. The project is focused on therapeutic regulatory molecules and lymphocytes based immunotherapy, especially studying the brain immune response mechanism used mouse model of human diseases. Ongoing studies involve (1) analysis and utilization of both characterized and newly found molecules from the anti-viral neuroprotection and anti-cancer immunology; (2) molecular and cellular characterization of lymphocyte and brain cell interactions; (3) the development of new animal models that can be employed in preclinical study to most reflect human clinical trials.

DUTIES
The candidate is expected to develop or contribute substantially to the design and planning of his/her research activities under the framework outlined above. He/she is expected to take full responsibility for the conduct of his/her studies and for any member of staff or student assigned to his/her project.
QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate should have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and possess a strong background in the area of immunology and molecular biology and/or the Central Nervous System (CNS) infectious diseases, degenerative diseases and brain cancer. He/she must have the ability and willingness to contribute skills and knowledge to the broader aims of the work of a research team to conduct research activities that are required.
The selected candidate will have sound knowledge and expertise in at least six of the following key technologies commonly used in cellular and molecular immunology: animal model of CNS disease/injury, cell culture, multi-parameter flow-cytometry, ELISpot, ELISA, MULTIPLEX assays, proliferation assays, cell-depletion strategies, PCR, RT-PCR, Western blot, and microarray analysis.
Desired skills and experience include a proven ability to think innovatively (for example, development of new assays), broader knowledge on the neuroimmunology or immunology of infectious diseases and experience as a team leader.
Salary will be in accordance with TTUHSC rates and commensurate with experience. Interested candidates must apply online at http://careers.texastech.edu, requisition # 2307BR. Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and names of three references to:
