An NIH funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhao at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill Medical College of Cornell University in the New York City.

Ongoing studies include identification of novel players and regulatory mechanisms of osteoclastogenesis and bone metabolisms in the physiological and pathological settings in osteoimmunology field, an exciting interdisciplinary research field linking bone biology and immune system. We apply cutting edge cellular and molecular techniques including RNAseq and ChIPseq and use various mouse models to accomplish the study. Relevant publications: Nature Medicine, 1066, 2009; Journal of Experimental Medicine, 319, 2012; Interaction of RBP-J and Endogenous TGF-β Signaling Controls ITAM-Mediated Costimulation of Osteoclastogenesis and Bone Resorption, Journal of Clinical Investigation, in press.
Qualified candidate must have a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. in bone biology, molecular biology or a related field and have a record of peer reviewed publications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bone biology, histology, molecular cloning, chromatin/protein immunoprecipitation, and manipulating genetic mutant mice and in vivo models. Familiarity with microarray or sequence analysis is preferred. High level of motivation and independence and the ability to think critically are expected. Excellent organization and time management skills are required as well as strong interpersonal skills. PhD candidates expected graduation soon are also encouraged to apply.
