Postdoctoral position in immunology of inflammatory disease : Stockholm/Solna, Sweden

Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, MIR

For investigating atherosclerosis and inflammatory pathways in mice with genes identified to control arthritis, at the CERIC Linné Center, Karolinska Institutet.

The Center for Research on Inflammation and Cardiovascular Disease (CERIC) is a new Linné center (www.ceric.se) funded by the Swedish Research Council. A postdoc position is now open for a highly motivated scientist with an interest in understanding how the immune system contributes to development of cardiovascular disease.

Duties
The project is focused on investigating the pathogenic role of newly positioned mouse genes associated with arthritis and atherosclerosis.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as postdoc if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. The applicant must hold a doctor´s degree or a qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate in the field of medicine, biomedicine or biology.

The applicant should have a strong background in mouse immunology, and in vivo chronic inflammation disease models. Experience of research work in experimental animal of rodents, experience in molecular biology, genetic methodology and cellular immunology is needed. The candidate must also have knowledge in statistics. Fluency in English is a requirement.

  • Verification from the thesis defence committee or the equivalent (only if the thesis defence is scheduled within three months after the application deadline)
