Infectious Diseases is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, physicians and allied health professionals from across the Trust and University working collaboratively in the field of bacterial and viral pathogenesis and prevention. We have particular focus on vaccination especially with respect to meningitis and influenza.

Applicants are invited to apply for a Research Fellowship which will be awarded at the level of Research Fellow (ERE 4). The successful applicant will join a team of clinicians, researchers and PhD students who investigate bacterial colonisation of the human nasopharynx. A particular interest is the mechanism of vaccine perturbation of bacterial carriage with a recent focus on meningococcal vaccines. The post would suit a post-doc who has experience of cellular immunology or mucosal immunology and who has experience in specific techniques including flow, immunometrics, cell/tissue culture as well as molecular techniques.
