The Ivy Brain Tumor Center is a non-conventional, non-profit program offering state-of-the-art clinical trials for patients with the most aggressive form of brain cancer. It is home to the largest collection of Phase 0 trials for brain tumors in the world. Our multidisciplinary team of brain tumor specialists and scientists are accelerating drug discovery and precision medicine in neuro-oncology to identify the most promising first-in-class therapies for brain tumor patients.

Job Description:

The Ivy Brain Tumor Center is currently recruiting a highly motivated and driven Postdoctoral Fellow I, preferably a recent graduate (Ph.D., M.D., DVM) to join our in vivo/in vitro modeling team focusing on cutting edge Phase 0/II clinical trials for glioblastoma at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Prior experience in conducting drug treatment studies and knowledge of signal transduction pathways is preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Conducts in vitro experiments with glioma cells.

•Assists in the development of preclinical trial plans.

•Supervision and training of laboratory supporting research staff.

•Plans, organizes, and monitors daily in vitro project protocols. Collects, prepares, and maintains required research documentation, including pathology reports for each tumor tissue, molecular markers identified by pathology, and any additional genomic aberrations identified.

•Coordinates with other Ivy Center teams for preclinical projects.

•Abstract and manuscript preparation and publishing.

•Assists in preparation of grant proposals and applications.

•Preparation and delivery of research presentations at internal and local meetings, national and international conferences.

Required Qualifications:

•PhD in Oncology/ Neurosciences/Neuro-oncology field is preferred.

•Must have the ability to think critically, conduct independent research studies, analyze and interpret data.

•Good organizational and analytical skills.

•Ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a team.
