Postdoc (m/f/d) Computational Imaging Analysis
Helmholtz-ZentrumGeesthacht (HZG)
The Institute of Active Polymers of Helmholtz-ZentrumGeesthacht invites applications for a Postdoc (m/f/d) in the area of Computational Image Analysis / Bioinformatics (Image Analysis and Object/Pattern Recognition).
The related multidisciplinary project focuses on using the modern computational analysis to process and analyze the biological image dataset, thereby to elucidate the mechanism of the interaction of stem cells and polymer-based biomaterials. In addition, this project aims to develop novel computational analysis techniques and simulation methods for improved accuracy and efficiency in biological data processing. The place of employment is Teltow (near Berlin) Germany.
Your tasks
correlative analysis and high-content imaging technologies to study stem cell-biomaterial interaction
using computational intelligence to process and analyze large images (2D/3D) and video dataset of high-resolution microscopy / tomography
developing automatic computational methods to predict and describe the changes of stem cell behavior and function (e.g. size, shape, migration) with time
elucidating the cellular signaling pathways and cell-material interaction mechanism
writing publications in peer-reviewed journals
presenting research results in international scientific conferences
Your profile
PhD in computational analysis, bioinformatics or relating fields, preferably with a background in cell biology/biomaterials
experience on dataset analysis using computational intelligence
knowledge on coding/programming language and Linux system, experience on Python, Matlab
preferably with the knowledge on computational models and simulations
