Applications are invited for a new research post to start in Feb 2021, or as soon thereafter as is practical. We are keen to appoint a researcher with a strong track record in system integration, technical development; and good understanding of network functional virtualisation (NFV), cloud native (CN) development and/or open-source robotic ecosystems at Research Fellow level (HERA Grade 7) who will take a key role in R&D of our H2020 ICT project 5G Enhanced Robot Autonomy (5G-ERA) which will be undertaken in the Institute for Research in Applied Computing (IRAC).

General topics in which we are interested cover 5G NFV Technology , ROS development, ETSI OSM for managing and orchestration, OpenStack, Containerisation and Kubernetes.

5G-ERA is a £6 million H2020 ICT research project with 13 partners from 7 different countries to study 5G enhanced robot autonomy. The project will start on 1st Jan 2021 and completed by 31st Dec 2023. Subject to satisfactory performance, funding is available to further extend the post until the end of the project.
