  ·         University of California San Francisco

  ·         Location: San Francisco, CA

  ·         Job Number: 7066827

  ·         Posting Date: Jun 11, 2020

  Job Description

The labs of Michael Evans and David Wilson at UCSF are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to advance the clinical translation of several small molecule radiotracers with applications for oncology and infectious diseases. The candidate will lead several small molecule radiotracer development projects involving fluorine-1, carbon-11, and gallium-68 radiochemistry. These projects will involve some radiochemistry development, validation studies in animal models, but the primary emphasis will be on translating the radiotracers into humans. These studies will include qualifying the radiotracer for human use, and assisting the PIs in compiling and submitting investigational new drug applications. There are several ongoing projects on which the candidate can participate that span challenges in immuno-oncology and imaging of infectious diseases.

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF is a vibrant research environment with over 50 million USD in extramural funding per year. The newly formed Chemistry, Probes, and Molecular Therapy interest group brings together several research groups led by renowned experts in radiochemistry, medical physics, organic synthesis, molecular imaging, and targeted radioligand therapy. This is an exceptional community that has seen trainees progress onto distinguished positions in academia and pharma over the past 10 years.
