  Position SummaryThe position will have an academic appointment in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Defining a well-developed virtual population within GastroPlus for PBPK modeling for NAFLD/NASH patients but could expand into other disease areas. Validate population differences through development of GastroPlus PBPK models for five (5) compounds; draft journal manuscript(s) in collaboration with Simulations Plus. Develop, update, and/or iterate existing DILIsym software sub-models such as those for cholestatic liver injury and bile acid-mediated liver injury and/or adaptation to liver injury through a variety of modes of action.

  Educational RequirementsPhD or other relevant doctoral degree in the Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a closely related discipline.

  Qualifications and ExperienceA strong background in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in Pharmacometrics and the modelling of data, as well as familiarity with the required software.

  Special Physical and Mental RequirementsPosition may will require some night and weekend data analysis and manuscript work. Position could include exposure to lab animals, human hepatocytes, adenoviral vector, and radiolabeled BSL-2 compounds as the fellow works with other members of the research team to ensure the accuracy of the model(s).
