  挪威奥斯路大学医院招收博士后

A post-doc position is available in the in the Dr. Knævelsrud project group within the Cancer Molecular Medicine group of Dr. Enserink at the Institute for Cancer Research, Division for Cancer Medicine from May 15, 2020 for 3 years (the start date can be negotiated).

  The organization and research focus

The Cancer Molecular Medicine group is located at the Radium hospital, which is part of Oslo University Hospital, the largest academic hospital in Scandinavia. The group is a member of a Norwegian Centre of Excellence (Centre for Cancer Cell Reprogramming, CanCell), which consists of six research groups focused on finding novel mechanisms in cancer development that can be targeted with novel cancer therapy. One of the main research aims of the group is to better understand the biology of cancer, including the regulation of autophagy. The successful candidate will work with cell culture and fruit fly models to understand how autophagy is turned off in a multicellular organism.

  Job description

The candidate will perform an imaged-based screen for genes involved in autophagy termination and study candidate genes in vivo in fruit flies. This project involves molecular biology, insect cell culture, Drosophila genetics, high-content imaging, confocal imaging and autophagy assays.

  Requirements

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and determined person who can work both independently as well as in the context of a team. Potential candidates have completed (or are close to completing) a PhD degree in biology or medicine. The successful candidate is positive-minded, is looking forward to learning new techniques, has good communication skills and is well organized.

Knowledge of basic methods in molecular biology are essential, while experience with one or several of the following techniques or research areas is a distinct benefit: Drosophila genetics, autophagy, fluorescence microscopy, high-content image analysis, cell culture, model organisms. Experience with Drosophila is a strong positive benefit.
