Position Summary: The Jensen laboratory of the Bluestone Center for Clinical Research at the New York University College of Dentistry seeks an enthusiastic and skilled Postdoctoral Associate with background in Neuroscience and Cell Signaling. Our lab is focused on the importance of G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling in the development of the pruritus, pain and inflammation. The research project will study the role of GPCR trafficking and intracellular signaling on pruritus and pain, and will use Nano-therapies to specifically target and attenuate the endosomal signaling of GPCRs. Applicants will be involved in the design and development of experiments from signaling assays and live cell imaging using FRET and BRET biosensors, to behavioral models of pruritus and pain.

Basic Qualifications: Applicant should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related discipline and have experience in both in vitro and in vivo models for cell signaling. Applicants should have experience in cell culture techniques and in animal husbandry for both wild type and genetically modified mice. Applicants should have great interpersonal skills, have a desire to work in a highly collaborative manner, and have good problem solving abilities.

The position offers a competitive salary and provides opportunities for career development and exposure to a rich scientific environment at NYU and the New York City area.
