  瑞士联邦材料试验和科研研究所(EMPA)招生物学方向博士后

Empa - the place where innovation startsEmpa is the research institute for materials science and technology of the ETH Domain and conducts cutting-edge research for the benefit of industry and the well-being of society.

The Laboratory for Particles-Biology Interactions focuses on the characterization, understanding and steering of interactions between particulate materials and human cells and tissues. The Laboratory provides not only expertise in the interdisciplinary field of particle safety assessment but also concerning applications for industry, biomedicine as well as regulatory authorities. We are offering a

Post-Doc position: "Safety assessment of graphene and graphene related materials in vitro"

This research project is part of the European Flagship project Graphene and aims to explore the bio-response of graphene and graphene related materials (GRM) on different exposure routes such as the lung, and correlate the biological effects with physico-chemical properties of GRM and selected benchmark materials. You will acquire an in depth understanding of the interaction of nanomaterials with human advanced in vitro cell cultures, risk assessment and the interactions with professional regulatory consultants. You will design, conduct and analyse scientific experiments in an interdisciplinary environment and in collaboration with other academic partners. In addition you will be involved in writing scientific publications, presenting results at national and international scientific meetings, leading projects and acquiring project funding.

We are looking for a well-organized, highly self-motivated, excellent candidate interested in nanosafety research. The candidate should hold a PhD degree either in biology, life science or a related field with expert know-how in in vitro cell culture preferentially related to the lung and gastrointestinal tract. Additional assets include experience in project management and acquisition as well as in student supervision.

We offer a highly interdisciplinary research environment with state of the art laboratory equipment to perform industrially relevant cutting-edge research. Our young and continuously growing team consists of experienced technicians, scientists, post docs as well as PhD and master students. We are active and successful in different areas of nanosafety as well as nanomedical research.

The position (80-100%) is available from June 2020 or after negotiation and will be initially limited to two years.
