  美国哈佛大学基因组学研究院博士后职位

We are seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team in the Ocular Genomics Institute at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Harvard Medical School to investigate the application of AAV-mediated gene therapy and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology for the treatment of human genetic diseases in the eye. The eye has been at the forefront of translational gene therapy due to the anatomic accessibility and well-studied immunologic privilege. The first FDA-approved gene therapy for inherited disease is for one form of an inherited retinal degenerative diseases (IRDs). The postdoc will conduct cutting-edge researches to develop therapeutic genome editing approaches for the treatment of several forms of IRDs. The projects are conducted in collaboration with the world’s leading experts in CRISPR field in Harvard Medical School and the Broad Institute. This position is available immediately.

Qualified candidates must have a PhD degree in Biology, Genetics, or Biomedical Sciences and have strong molecular/cellular biologic skills. A strong publication record is preferred. Work experience with genetically modified animal models, CRISPR technology, iPS cells or retinal research is preferred but not absolutely required. We expect you to be flexible, open to new ideas, ambitious, an out-of-the-box thinker, and result oriented. Attitude is as important as aptitude. Interested candidates are asked to clearly indicate, in a one to two page cover letter, their lab expertise, especially in genetic and genomics, genome engineering, iPSC or gene therapy, and how you have used your skills and knowledge to shape your science. Candidates should also include a three-four sentence of description on how you would propose to apply CRISPR/Cas9 technology for monogenic inherited diseases.
