美国加州大学旧金山与上海科技大学合作项目博士后职位

Postdoctoral Fellow-Systems Biology of Disease, China/US Collaboration

iHuman Institute at Shanghai Tech University

Location: Shanghai, China

We are recruiting highly motivated and collaborative postdoctoral fellows for full time positions at the iHuman Institute (https://apptrkr.com/1596188), ShanghaiTech University. The selected candidate will join the Krogan lab, a mutli-disciplinary team that utilizes proteomic and genomic systems biology techniques to study disease areas, including cancer, infectious disease, cardiovascular disease, and psychiatric conditions. At ShanghaiTech we will leverage a powerful combination of structural proteomics and functional CRISPR-based technologies to research GPCR signaling, structure, and functional protein networks important in human disease.

Professor Nevan Krogan has a well-established team of young and talented scientists working from the world renowned University of California – San Francisco (UCSF) and J. David Gladstone Institutes, both based in San Francisco, California. The success of the Krogan lab has largely been based on collaborations with the world’s top scientists who have been brought together through three of our main initiatives: the Host Pathogen Map Initiative (HPMI) (hmpi.ucsf.edu), the Cancer Cell Map Initiative (CCMI) (ccmi.org) and the Psychiatric Cell Map Initiative (PCMI) (pcmi.ucsf.edu). The Krogan Lab at ShanghaiTech will be integrated into the main lab and expected to contribute to the overall goals of the various mapping initiatives, while also establishing a strong presence and collaboration at iHuman Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating and sharing research findings with Senior Investigators at the San Francisco based labs through written and oral reports and weekly lab meetings (virtual attendance).

Requirements:

• PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, or related field.

• Interest in systems and structure biology of GPCRs, particularly in relation to disease areas of cancer, infectious disease, or psychiatric disease.

• Experience and technical expertise in the latest proteomics and mass spectrometry-based techniques and analyses, with preference given to candidates having knowledge of HDX, XL-MS, or Native-MS approaches.

• Experience with CRISPR-based genomic strategies.

• Strong communication and writing skills in English and Chinese.

We offer a unique opportunity to lead a diverse team in a highly dynamic work environment, and to collaborate with world-renowned international scientists. A competitive annual salary will be decided based on University salary scale according to candidate’s work experience and qualifications.
